Soft savoury scones loaded with cheese, perfect for snacks or breakfast

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup cold butter
1 cup grated cheese
3/4 cup milk
1 tbsp milk (for brushing)

Instructions

Prepare Dough

Preheat oven to 200°C.

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.

Rub in butter until crumbly.

Add cheese and mix well.

Add milk and form soft dough.

Shape & Bake

Shape into a disc and cut.

Place on tray and brush with milk.

Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.

Notes

Add herbs like oregano or chives for variation.
Best served warm.
